I'm a freelance writer from the UK. After living in Frankfurt, Dubai and Sibiu, I'm now living in Budapest, Hungary, but I always make it back to Cornwall for sailing in the summer.

I studied Anthropology at the University of Edinburgh before becoming a freelance writer. Since then I have lived in 7 countries and travelled to over 35. Travel is woven into my life, lifestyle and now my writing.

Growing up in South England, I was immersed in the culture of sailing and water sports from an early age. At the age of I7 I competed in the Devizes to Westminster International Canoe Marathon, a 125 mile endurance race from Wilshire to central London. During my time at university, I was in the Edinburgh University Boat Club.

Every summer my family come together for a trip to Cornwall filled with laughter, sun and salty days on the water. This is my favourite time of year and I never miss it. You can find out more about me @elizabethharriswriting on Instagram.
